Our goal is to help create opportunities for skaters!
Greater Kalamazoo Skating Association can help equip skaters with the skill sets they need to excel in the sport of professional figure skating. Our goal is to help create opportunities for skaters to advance their skating careers. Our Learn To Skate USA program, competition programs, and private lessons are designed to provide the foundation skaters need to take their passion for skating to the next level. Skaters can earn college scholarships, and a have the opportunity to skate in world-renowned competitions and entertainment programs. GKSA skaters have gone on to participate in the US Special Olympics, Disney On Ice, Team USA and much more.
Disney On Ice | Dare To Dream
Two of our own GKSA club members are currently skating with the Disney on Ice Dare to Dream cast. GKSA skaters had the opportunity to visit VanAndel Arena in Grand Rapids Michigan in early March.
Several of our GKSA club members have gone on to represent Team USA at the National and World Level in places like Gothenburg, Sweden, and Rouen, France.

Coaches & Judges
Skaters have the opportunity to become coaches and judges. There are many opportunities for skaters to continue to build on their skating careers.
GKSA Academic Scholarship
GKSA offers scholarships for skaters who have demonstrated a balance in life between excelling in skating and academics. These scholarships would be awarded annually at the GKSA membership meeting to those graduating seniors who will be attending higher education the following summer or fall.
These scholarships are given to any skater who meets the defined requirements. The sole purpose of this program is to recognize our seniors who have demonstrated mental and physical discipline in their young lives.
