This is GKSA’s group lesson program. GKSA offers evening lessons year round on Sundays and Tuesdays. Using US Figure Skating approved curriculum, skaters (who are placed in small groups by age and ability) learn the fundamentals of the sport. Skaters learn proper techniques, improve balance and coordination and promote physical fitness all while having fun! Each level builds upon the last, so the more levels passed, the better the skater! Learn to Skate Levels:
- Snowplow Sam 1-3 – Designed specifically for preschool children, these levels help develop the strength necessary to maneuver on the ice, utilizing creative games and toys.
- Basic 1-8 (6 years & up) – skaters learn forward and backward skating, stops, edges, crossovers, turns and Mohawks
- Hockey 1-4 (6 years & up) – endorsed by USA Hockey as their learn to skate curriculum From here, skaters may move directly to a learn to play program.
- Adult 1-4 – designed for the beginning adult skater
